Joshua was a servant of Moses Joshua 1.1
Only a servant can generate another servant, I say this in the dimension of discipleship, in the life of a cell and even of a Church. It's easy to see the origin of Joshua's serving heart when we look at who he walked with.

The vision he received through the example of Moses made him a receiver of silent communication to mold him for leadership. Moses was given the title of servant, Abraham was given that title, and Joshua was also given that title. (Josh 24.29)
Exodus 33:11 records this:
“And the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend; then it returned to the camp; but his servant, young Joshua son of Nun, never left the middle of the tent.”
Joshua did not depart from the tent door.
We need to learn to respect the time of staying at the tent door. It was not yet time to be inside the tent, but at the door he could stay. Follow suit, listen to how things happened. I'm sure Moses inspired David through his example. I value those who are close, because proximity allows you to know, shape, transfer. I never missed the opportunity to be close to my pastor because I wanted to imitate his life, the anointing was with him.
Joshua did not depart from the tent door, and he was instructed not to depart from the Law of God. It is not enough to be close to the tent, your motivations must be spiritual. It is clear that Judas was close on the outside but far inside.

Good examples are available, we must follow from a teachable heart.
At another time Joshua teaches others by example in dependence on God.
Only servants can teach through example and divine dependence. You can memorize the entire Bible, but if you are not an example in practice of what you read, you are a hypocrite.

Joshua was empowered by God and He set an example of dependence when he began to make the people advance in order as a channel of God.
You will not be empowered with God's anointing until you are fully dependent on Him. Dependence precedes anointing.
Over the years I have heard leaders complain or get upset because their subordinates do not follow the direction they are indicating. Sadly, I witnessed many of these leaders hurting and being hurt and missing out on opportunities to serve in ministry.
The ministry demands an availability to serve, the being is together with the doing. Joshua would not point the people in the right direction just because he knew how to give orders, but because he was an example of obedience, so the orders made sense to the people.
Beloved leader, people will follow someone who exemplifies dependence on God, especially if they choose to walk with other role models of that same quality. The things you do will speak louder than the things you say. What I mean by that is that before you speak, be an example so that your words are supported by your actions.
